Privacy, legal notice & cookies

Statspire.gg is operated as an independent hobby project (not a registered company). For privacy requests, abuse reports, or data questions, contact us via Contact or Discord.

Battle.net sign-in (optional): When you connect your account, we receive OAuth tokens and your Battle.net ID / BattleTag so we can sync characters you authorize. We never store your Battle.net password.

WoW profile & game data: Character names, realms, class, spec, equipment, talents, collections summaries, M+, PvP, and related statistics from Blizzard's Profile and Game Data APIs — the same categories Blizzard exposes for authorized or public profile access.

Ladder meta: Aggregated statistics derived from top Mythic+ and PvP ladder profiles we crawl on a schedule (gear, enchants, gems, talents). This is statistical, not a copy of third-party BiS sites.

Guest character lookup (optional): If you use one-time lookup without signing in, we fetch the same public profile categories for the realm and name you enter, store a short-lived snapshot on our servers (see retention), and give you a shareable link. We do not require an email or real-world identity for this feature.

What we do not collect for browsing: We do not run advertising networks, sell email lists, or require a mailing address to use the public meta pages.

Where the GDPR applies, we rely on legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) to operate a WoW roster and ladder-meta tool for the community, and on contract / steps at your request when you sign in and ask us to sync your roster.

Strictly necessary cookies for login do not require consent under the ePrivacy rules. Any optional analytics cookie would require consent if we add it later.

Synced roster data is kept in our database (hosted on Supabase) so pages load quickly after you sync. You can stop new syncs by revoking Statspire in your Battle.net connected-apps settings.

Guest snapshots are kept for about 48 hours from creation (extended when you refresh), then deleted or treated as expired on access. Shareable /c/… URLs stop working after expiry.

Optional publish: From a guest snapshot you may opt in to a stable /character/us/realm/name profile URL. Only public Blizzard data is shown. Published pages may be indexed by search engines until the snapshot expires; you can unpublish before then. We do not publish by default.

Browser storage: UI preferences (for example which meta ladder slice you selected on the roster or public meta pages) may be stored in localStorage on your device only — not sent to our servers. Clear site data in your browser to remove them.

We use a small number of first-party cookies:

• Session cookie (HttpOnly): keeps you logged in after Battle.net OAuth. It maps to your connected account server-side — not your password.
• OAuth state cookie (short-lived): CSRF protection during login; removed when login completes.

These are strictly necessary for authentication. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party social trackers on Statspire.gg today.

A short site-wide notice may remind you of these cookies on first visit; dismissing it stores only a preference in your browser (localStorage), not on our servers.

If we add privacy-friendly analytics later, we will update this section and ask for consent where required.

We do not sell or rent personal data. Game data is obtained from Blizzard's APIs under their developer terms. Infrastructure providers process technical delivery data:

• Vercel Inc. (United States) — site hosting and serverless functions.
• Supabase — database and auth storage for app data (region configured in your project).

Each provider acts as a processor for hosting and database services. See their privacy policies for subprocessors and retention.

Data may be processed in the United States and other regions where Vercel or Supabase operate. Where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards (for example Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions offered by those vendors).

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to processing, and to data portability. For WoW characters, include character name and realm (and BattleTag if you used sign-in) when contacting us so we can find the right rows.

We aim to respond within 30 days. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

We use HTTPS, restrict database access to server-side credentials, encrypt stored OAuth refresh tokens, and keep dependencies updated. No online service is perfectly secure; use Statspire at your own discretion.

Statspire.gg is an independent fan project in active development. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Blizzard Entertainment.

Ladder meta, comparisons, and character views are generated from API and crawl data for information only. We do not guarantee accuracy, completeness, or timeliness. The service is provided "as is" without warranties. You are responsible for complying with Blizzard's API terms and applicable law.

By using Statspire.gg you agree to these notices and to use the site lawfully. We may change features, APIs, or these terms as the product evolves.
